Awareness of client potential for suicide is essential for ethical clinical practice, and is now a continuing education requirement for mental health professionals in Oregon.
In this training, therapists will learn to identify suicide risk factors, assess for potential lethality, create effective safety plans, and manage chronic suicidal ideation.
This course will address:
which diagnoses and symptoms should be most concerning,
the most important elements to document in a suicide risk assessment,
how to develop a suicide risk safety plan with a client, and
when higher levels of care indicated.
This course meets the new Oregon and Washington CE content requirements for assessment, treatment and management of suicidal ideation. Please check with your affiliated Board for additional information.
